'leaf plucking' activity - PlaySchool
The tiny tots at St. Mary's Play School participated in an innovative 'leaf plucking' activity on July 25, 2024. The activity was carefully designed to enhance their eye-hand coordination and essential functioning skills such as attention, working memory, sustained play, and communication.
The activity featured medicinal leaves like Neem, Moringa, and Curry leaves, which provided an excellent opportunity for sensory exploration. The children were introduced to the leaves' distinct tastes and aromas, fostering a deeper connection with nature.
Principal Rev. Fr Vijay Joyson D'Souza, Vice Principal Ms Rita Quadros, Kindergaten coordinator Ms Dapsy Vaz and Pre Primary teachers joined the toddlers in plucking the leaves, making the experience more enjoyable. This activity not only promoted experiential learning but also encouraged team work and senory smartness among kids.
