'Mindathon' AICS-Inter school Chess Tournament-2022

AICS-Inter school Chess Tournament-2022 was held at St Mary's on August 23, 2022. Total 439 players from 38 schools of Udupi and South Canara participated in the tournament. *Inaugural ceremony:* Chief Guest Mr Derrick Pinto, the proprietor of Derrick Chess School, Mangalore inaugurated the tournament symbolically by moving a giant chess coin. Correspondent V.Rev.Fr Charles Menezes in his presidential address adviced students to inculcate the values of discipline and time management from the game of chess. Principal Rev.Fr Johnson Sequeira extended the words of welcome.Vice Principal Ms Rita Quadros proposed the vote of thanks.Ms Benedicta Fernandes, the member of School Management Committee was present on the stage.Ms Linet Castelino anchored the program. *Valedictory Ceremony:* The Chief Guest of the program Ms Eliza Vaz, the Principal of Christ School Manipal appreciated the participants for keeping up the sportsmanship spirit throughout the tournament. Correspondent graced the occasion.Mr Jerald Pinto, the head of Physical Education Dept extended the words of gratitude.Mr Vinay anchored the event. Physical Education teachers of St Mary's Mr Jerald Pinto, Mr Bhasker, Ms Renuka and Ms Amitha coordinated the tournament. *Prizes* : Adithya and Hemanth have brought laurels to host school by securing First place in Board Prizes respectively in under 14 and 17 categories.
