‘Spike Fest’-AICS Volley Ball Tournament 2024

‘Spike Fest’-AICS Volley Ball Tournament was held on November 16, 2024. Total 74 teams across Udupi district contested in this mega sports event.The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer led by teachers’ choir. The Principal Rev.Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza in his introductory remarks highlighted the need of upholding a high degree of sportsmanship in every phase of the game. The Chief Guest of the program Dr. Ramachandra Patkar, Physical Education Director, Dr G Shankar Govt. First Grade College, Udupi was felicitated for his incredible achievements in the field of sports and training. Addressing the young sportsmen he said that the disciplined practice and dedicated focus are the basic ingredients of success in the field of sports. Mr. Vincent Dcosta, the Sports Secretary of AICS graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. The Correspondent V.Rev.Fr Charles Menezes in his Presidential address stated that the sports activities strengthen peace and harmony in the society. Mr. Maxim D’Souza, the Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi; Ms Rita Quadros, the Vice Principal; Mr Gerald Pinto, the Physical Education Director were present on the stage . The Chief Guest and other dignitaries symbolically inaugurated the tournament by cutting the ribbon and playing Volleyball. Ms Renuka, the Physical Education teacher extended the words of gratitude. Ms Helen Cornelio anchored the inaugural session.
