Inauguration and blessing of the Renovated Administrative Block

"Dreams are the seeds of change. Noting ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream." The dream of renovating the administrative block came true with its inauguration and blessing on Tuesday, 7th of July at 10 amwith the presence of only a limited number of invitees and staff due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

The renovated area was inaugurated and blessed by Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, The Bishop of Udupi Diocese. The formal programme began with invoking blessings from almighty by teacher's choir. Principal Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira welcomed the president of the function Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Guests V Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca, Correspondent St Mary's Educational Institutions, Udupi,Fr Ashwin Aranha, Assistant Parish Priest, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, Mr BonifaceD'souza and Mrs Benedicta Fernandes,Vice-President and Secretary of the parish pastoral committee, Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi respectively, the management committee members and the teaching and non–teaching staff assembled. As a symbol of walking towards brightness the lamp was lit by the dignitaries.

Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca in his introductory address expressed his joy as correspondent to see the renovated block and said St Mary's is climbing the ladder of progress under the leadership of Principal Fr Johnson. Institutions deteriorate if they don't grow he opined by comparing the growth of institution, recollecting the memories of the day he came to St Mary's as correspondent.

The Bishop said, there is double celebration and dual happiness. Firstly the installation of Mother Mary's statue at the entrance of the administrative area which always symbolises the role of the mother and her love, care and affection towards the children, students and even the grown-ups. Secondly, the inauguration of the renovated parlour, the heart of the institution which gives a bird view of an institution. By referring the hardships we are facing due to COVID-19 he opined in way the pandemic has proved to be blessing wherein a lot of new ideas, things and concepts are getting developed. The whole system of Education has changed. The teaching has shifted from within four walls of the institution to virtual teaching within the digital screens and in future there may not be any need of educational institutions if we think technically. As the world around is changing we must be ready to adapt these changes which is inevitable for the very existence of the System of Education with human values. He congratulated the correspondent, principal, vice principal and the staff by giving a call to be the light to and salt of the life of students entering this temple of learning. He wished that the school may reach its Zenith of Glory with a difference.

On this occasion the Engineer of the renovated project Mr Simon and Contractor Faraz, and all the other who toiled hard to give a new look to the parlour were honoured by the Bishop. The programme officially came to an end singing the school anthem after the proposal of vote of thanks by Ms Rita Quadros, vice principal of the school. Mr Vinay Suvarnacoordinated the programme fabulously. Rev Fr Johnson royally planned and guided the event and vice principal Ms Rita Quadros supported in the execution of this programme.
