Kaushal Bodh programme on Hydroponics

A Kaushal Bodh programme on Hydroponics was organized for the students of Grade 8 on August 7, 2026, with the aim of providing them practical exposure to modern and sustainable methods of farming. The programme began with a brief introduction to Kaushal Bodh. Mr. Joseph Lobo, a well-known horticulturist from Shankarpura, Udupi, was the resource person for the program.

Mr. Lobo made the session very engaging by introducing the students to various local medicinal plants and explaining their importance and uses. He then discussed the plants suitable for hydroponics and explained the step-by-step procedure of growing plants using hydroponic methods. He also demonstrated grafting and gave the students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the process.

Around 150 students of Grade 8 attended the programme along with their Science teachers-Ms. Roopa K.S., Ms. Poornima Amin and Ms. Venilda Rodrigues. Principal Rev Fr Vijay Joyson D'souza and Vice Principal Ms Rita Quadros graced the ocassion. The students participated actively and showed great interest throughout the session. Vedanth and Archie of Grade 8 shared their feedback and spoke about what they had learnt from the programme.It was a useful and engaging learning experience that gave students an opportunity to understand hydroponics and horticulture through hands-on activities.
